Tell us about the history of The Mexican and how the Dallas Design District restaurant came to be.
The Mexican is a collaboration between four partners: two from Mexico and two from Texas. These partners, Roberto Gonzales, Rafael Abreu, Rich Hicks, and Todd Istre were compelled to share their love of the Mexican culture with the vibrant and cosmopolitan Dallas Design District.
Since opening, what do you all enjoy most about having a restaurant in the DDD?
The Design District is a beloved segment of Dallas lending itself to both the local and the out-of-town visitor with a sense of history and the future in one of the most architecturally-significant and community-rooted neighborhoods in Dallas.
What would you say sets The Mexican apart from other local concept eateries?
Our uncompromising love and passion of Mexico can be seen and felt in every corner of our restaurant through our commitment to authenticity and modern luxury. This drive is symbolized at the very heart of our brand image with our “Milagro” emblem. The Milagro serves as a reminder that we exist because we love Mexico so much that we want others to experience Mexico the same way we do.
