Tell us about the background of McGannon Showrooms and how the Dallas Design District showroom came to be.
In 1980 dynamic duo, wife and husband, Sharon and Bill McGannon purchased a furniture showroom from a retiring married couple. Bill was a road warrior furniture sales rep and wanted to show more of what he represented in Dallas. The showroom was first located in the World Trade Center and was later moved to the Design District. The Trammell Crow Company was instrumental in guiding us to the new locations within the District. Sharon McGannon was known for hand delivering the rent check to Trammel Crow in his office with a friendly hello. We like to think she helped us get the best locations in the Design District! With Bill & Sharon now enjoying retirement, McGannon Showrooms remains a family-owned business, with their daughter, Britt McGannon-Reynolds, at the helm.
What do you enjoy most about having a showroom in the DDD neighborhood?
Location, location, location as they say! And we can’t leave out the “cool” factor of being in the heart of Dallas’ creative community. Our friends and neighbors are always inspiring and intriguing us!
What can visitors expect when they visit McGannon’s DDD showroom?
A friendly welcome with beautiful home furnishings to inspire. If you visited us last week, be sure to come back the next week because we will have new product on the floor. We pride ourselves on making the showroom inviting and welcoming – both visually and personally.
In your opinion, what sets McGannon Showrooms apart from other local and national interior design showrooms?
Right now, we have product in stock ready to go despite the ongoing supply chain crisis. A client can purchase product off the floor and have it installed in a matter of days, not weeks or months. We have a fabulous team who is here to find solutions for your design needs and keep you updated with the most relevant industry news.
If you had to describe McGannon Showrooms style in one word, what would it be and why?
Transitional, because we offer styles ranging from clean & contemporary to fresh & updated traditional. We have it all!
Any emerging industry trends or new collections you’re loving for spring?
