Studied piano throughout early years at Conservatory in Ho Chi Minh
City from 1980 to 1987 and graduated in 1992. After that, continued his
study in Landscape Architecture at the Belorussian Technical University and
received a Master of Science in Architecture in 1999
In 2012, created BOARC, a new art genre by combining the precision laser cutting technique with the Vietnamese traditional bamboo arts, and shifted his full-time attention to bamboo craft artworks. His 1st solo exhibitions under BOARC brand were the shows at Cultural Arts Center at Montgomery College, Takoma Park Campus, Maryland, USA and at the ConFestival, Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus, Virginia on 2016. His work was the subject of a major exhibition organized by The Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum – the commissioned “The White House” which was displayed at Baltimore, Maryland in 2017 and “US Capitol” displayed at The Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum – Dubai, UAE.
ARCHIVEMENT
Hoang Tuan Long has received numerous awards in recognition of his
achievement in cultivating national heritage and preservation of
craftsmanship.
2016: 1st Vietnam Record award for The miniature of the famous Single?Pillared Pagoda from the Vietnam Records Organization
2019: Second Vietnam Records for highest Christmas tree made from
bamboo awarded by FUNKO Boxes
2020: World Records Union – World Kings officially awarded him the
World Record certicate for his miniature models of world-renowned
buildings by using toothpicks and lasers cutting technique on Acrylic
sheets called BOARC at the 43th Meeting of Vietnam Record Holders.
2021: Received 2 awards, one is HOA TRE from Vietnam Records
Organization, this award presented to Record Holders who have made
outstanding contributions to their community through their creation of
significance projects and masterpieces; the other award is Golden Plate of
Dedication for record values of World Record Content Academy (WRCA) -
an award presented to individuals who have great contributed to the
development of record holder community during the past time.
2022: The Asia Record for biggest Mandala artwork made by the most
people and the Viet Nam Record for the biggest Mandala artwork makes
from bamboo toothpick
2023: World Record : Community project The "Map of Vietnam" is a
special artwork in the “Soul of Vietnam” collection, with the message:
Connection - Pride - Love. expected to attract the participation of 10,000
people.
