What does your perfect day in the Dallas Design District look like?
Maybe it starts surrounded by fabric samples and furniture, moves into an afternoon of gallery hopping and ends over dinner and cocktails. Or maybe you’re here for one thing only: great food.
That’s the beauty of the District. There’s no one way to experience it.
Whether you’re always searching for your next source of inspiration, never pass up a good gallery, or plan your outings around where you’re eating next, consider this your guide to exploring the neighborhood your way.
For the Design Lover
If you can spend hours talking fabrics, furniture and finishes, you’re in the right neighborhood.
Start at the Dallas Design Center, where some of the District’s most inspiring showrooms make it easy to see what’s new in the design world. Explore textiles, wallcoverings and furnishings at Wells Abbott, Lee Jofa, Culp Associates and Romo. Search for the piece that pulls the room together at Arsin Rug Gallery, discover statement furnishings at Gary Riggs and The Bright Group, and step inside Gracie Showroom for its iconic hand-painted wallcoverings.
But don’t stop there.
Beyond the Design Center, the neighborhood offers even more to explore. Find modern kitchen inspiration at Eggersmann, bulthaup Dallas and Snaidero, rethink outdoor living at JANUS et Cie, browse refined fixtures and finishes at Waterworks, and discover timeless craftsmanship at Hickory Chair.
Come with a project in mind or simply come ready to look. Around here, inspiration tends to find you either way.
For the Art Lover
Consider this your invitation to gallery hop.
The Dallas Design District has long been a destination for the city’s art community, with galleries and creative spaces tucked throughout the neighborhood.
Start at Laura Rathe Fine Art, continue to Christopher Martin Gallery, then make your way to ALG Fine Art. Along the way, you’ll find contemporary works, new exhibitions and plenty of reasons to slow down and take a closer look.
The best way to do it? Don’t over-plan it. Wander, step inside somewhere new and see what catches your eye.
You may come looking for inspiration. You might leave thinking about a piece you can’t stop picturing on your wall.
For the Food Lover
Come hungry. This itinerary could easily take you from your first coffee to your last cocktail.
Start with breakfast, brunch and coffee at Ascension, or ease into the day at The Meteor with coffee and plans to come back for pizza later.
By lunchtime, follow the craving. Grab tacos at La Lupita, go for pizza at Pie Tap or Delucca, or settle in at Culinary Dropout and stay awhile.
Then comes dinner.
Go Mediterranean at Alara, Italian at Ospi, or Wagyu and sushi at Jo'Seon Wagyu Steak House. Head to Evelyn or Commons Club for dinner and cocktails, or make a night of it at Delilah with dinner and live entertainment.
And if the night somehow ends back at The Meteor for pizza? We support that decision.
In the Design District, planning your next meal is half the fun.
One Neighborhood. Make It Yours.
The best part about the Dallas Design District is that these itineraries don’t have to stay separate.
Start in the showrooms and end at the bar. Grab brunch before a gallery crawl. Stop in for one showroom and somehow find yourself staying for dinner.
There’s always another gallery to walk into, another showroom to explore and another table worth grabbing.
So, what’s your perfect day in the DDD?
