Job Description: Production Supervisor

Vickery Trading Company equips refugee women for long-term success through vocational training, personal development and fair wages. We’re a non-profit social business that manufactures a clothing line in the heart of Dallas. We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized candidate to oversee production, inspection and packaging of VTC and private client products. Reporting to the Merchandising Director, the Production Supervisor will have responsibility for efficient management and tracking of production, private client projects, and product inventory.

Responsibilities

• Create production calendar with Merchandising Director and Training Manager

• Manage and implement production calendar

• Build system and manage Associate assignments based on skill, training, or production needs

• Oversee production for VTC and private client products

• Manage sample creation by sewing samples and/or training an Associate to sew samples

• Assist Merchandising Director in developing costing for all products

• Manage cutting process with contracted cutter, including delivery/retrieval of fabric

• Manage product sorting upon returning from cutter

• Monitor all VTC production and private client output

• Develop necessary communication tools for production such as instruction sheets or modified tech packs

• Develop and manage quality control, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met and maintained

• Ensure production completion meets deadlines set in Time-Action Calendar

• In collaboration with Merchandising Director, build and manage product inventory system

• Manage organization, cleanliness and safety standards of production area

• With Training Manager, implement necessary changes to training and production process

 

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional industry experience

• Strong sewing skills

• Firm knowledge of garment construction

• Detail-oriented

• Team player

• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in or willingness to learn cross-cultural communication

• Successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which enable and support sound decision-making

• Self-starter with excellent time management ability

• Must have reliable transportation and ability to navigate DFW metroplex

• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, patience, and dedication to the mission of VTC

 

Start Date: 1 Position open, Start Date Immediately

Hours: 30 hours/week; all hours in office

Compensation: $25/hour
