Job Summary Overview

To support an assigned Dahlgren Duck FF&E Residential Purchasing Coordinator in the processes necessary to successfully order and land items for Dahlgren Duck FF&E residential/commercial projects.  Consistently provide excellent internal customer service to project team members.  In addition, communicate in a professional manner with vendor and logistics partner representatives to ensure 100% order accuracy and on-time delivery.

General Information

* Title - Purchasing Assistant (FF&E Division)

* Location - 1531 Edison Street, Dallas, Texas 75207

* Reports to - Senior Procurement Coordinator & Director of Design

Tasks 

* Monitor FF&E Purchasing emails for correspondence relevant to assigned projects. 

* Issue Purchase Orders. 

* Review all project daily to track the progress of all confirmed orders.

* Record estimated ship dates. 

* Create weekly Item Status Reports and convey to logisitics partner to keep them abreast  of items shipping to them. 

* Record actual ship dates and tracking information provided on shipping confirmation documents.

* Follow-up with vendors when estimated ship dates are not met.

* Record received dates. 

* Reconcile warehouse receipts/reports to confirm items have been recieved by logistics provider.

* Notify Purchasing Coordinator and Director of Design of any issues hindering the purchasing flow for any items that will adversely impact the project schedule. 

* Handle any item damages with client and warehouse. 

Skills 

* Proficient in MS Office, Adobe, and Design Manager. 

* Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc).

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment. 

* Superior time-management skills.

* Extremely detail oriented.

* High level of initiative and work well in a team environment.

* Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well.

* Motivated, goal oriented, and persistent. 

* Punctual and respectful of other people's time. 

Experience 

* Minimum 1-2 year of purchasing experience. 

* Knowledge of the Design business and the home furnishings industry. 

* Undergraduate degree.

Work Conditions

* Work hours - 8:30am -5:30 pm Monday through Friday in office in the Dallas Design District.

Compensation

* Pay range - $40,000 - $45,000
