If you're like many Americans, you’ve likely made a New Year’s resolution to eat right and exercise in 2016. But why not take this opportunity to make over your entire state of mind, too? The Dallas Design District is the perfect place to undertake a full lifestyle redesign this year. Here's how.
New year, new body
Kick off the new year with a body you can feel good about with classes at Pilates In Mind. This serene, inclusive boutique studio is located off Levee Street on the far west side of the Design District. With a variety of class options — private or duet lessons, equipment or floor classes — Pilates In Mind is open to every skill level, from those just learning the fundamentals to those with a more advanced repertoire. Classes run Monday through Saturday at a variety of times, both morning and evening.
New year, new hairstyle
Start fresh this year with a trendy new cut and color at Hair by Charlie. Updating your hairstyle can usher you into 2016 with a more polished look and renewed confidence. Charlie and his crew will help you find the perfect style for your features and lifestyle.
New year, new home design
Revamp your home from the living room to the backyard with this season’s must-have home decor pieces from Design District designers like Scott + Cooner, Again & Again, George Cameron Nash, William Switzer, The Rug Company, Butter of Dallas and Holly Hunt Design. Start with textiles — fabric, carpeting, tile — and see what inspires you before searching out some eye-catching furniture and accessories. Then choose paint colors to complete your new vision.
New year, new diet
Brown-bagging your lunch isn't the only way to ensure you’re eating fresh, nutritious ingredients every day. The Design District has a wide array of health-conscious eateries to explore in 2016. Jump-start your healthy new eating habits with better lunch options, like quinoa and kale from Royal Sixty, apple and radish salad from Oak or fresh fruit and granola from Ascension.
New year, new mindset
Expand your mind and take in some culture with a trip to one of the Design District’s world-class art galleries, like Art Ability and Conduit Gallery. Get inspired by the galleries’ originals, limited editions, sculptures and murals in both traditional and contemporary styles.
It’s not too late to set a goal to live more purposefully when it comes to your body, mind and environment in 2016. Visit the Design District and make today the day you start living in the new year!
