Earlier this year the Design District welcomed a brand new event venue to the neighborhood and we finally had a chance to stop by this week. With a frontage spot on the increasingly diverse Riverfront Boulevard, the Empire Room is poised to be one of the neighborhood's premier spots for weddings and events, in a neighborhood that's got some experience in that department. A redux of a spot that used to be located in downtown Dallas, this Empire Room is sleek, modern and built out to accommodate everything from weddings to big corporate parties. The space is huge but can be divided to accommodate smaller events in addition to large. The venue is also equipped with a professional catering kitchen which, as event planners are all too aware, is a rarity. The interior is a white box which can be completely customized, but the back 'patio' is the real star. Attractive landscaping, café lighting, ability to host a bar and/or dance floor plus fantastic views of the downtown skyline at night. Now that's something you don't find at every event venue.
