INTERIOR DESIGNER / ARCHITECTA high-end interior design firm in Dallas, Texas is seeking a talented interior designer or architect with a minimum of 5 years of experience in design specific to interior finish selection, design, specification, and architecture. This position offers an incredible opportunity for an energetic, motivated and passionate individual to grow with an established, friendly and well-respected design team!
This position will be working directly with the principal of the firm and is responsible for developing and executing the design from the conceptual and presentation stage through the completion of the built home. Position requires a self-motivated candidate to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative job with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The applicant should have a proactive approach to all assigned tasks with excellent follow-up skills, and ability to work independently and ability to build strong relationships with clients, sub contractors and vendors.
Duties - Project Management:
-Collaborate with Principal on assigned projects, and manage the execution of project specifications and drawings.
-Bidding items to ensure they fit with in project budgets
-Responsible for the accuracy of project documentation, completion of schedules, and other items relative to the project. Confer with Principal for clarification, as necessary.
-Maintain continual two-way communication with Principal and project team regarding project and client details. Keep team up on progress or project changes/challenges.
-Management of construction design team day to day activities as they relate to project progress goals and deadlines.
-Identify, receive and document problems. Consult with Principal on solutions, handle and follow-up. Review problem status reports for Principal and/or Client as necessary
-Interface with contractor, vendors, and subcontractors on site as necessary to coordinate project design vision.
-Prepare in studio webware for purchasing - Lighting, furniture cabinetry, mirrors, and wallcoverings.
Duties - Project Design and Drafting:
-Develop presentations, schemes and budgets for projects with Principal specific to interior architecture and finishes.
-Design, specify, draft and integrate all elements of interior design and architecture including:
-Electrical plan with locations for floor, wall, and ceiling (RCP) fixtures specific to furniture/cabinetry plans
-Architectural details including trim/millwork, cabinetry, floor pattern design, fireplace design and other construction documents
-Finish selections, Room Finish Schedules, and drawings for all interior selections.
-Exterior finishes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, tile, cabinetry, counter top, decorative lighting, doors, trim,
hardware, flooring, paint etc.
-Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
-5+ years of progressive experience in another design firm is a must.
-Must be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in handling and overseeing a project from concept through final installation
-Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines and work on multiple projects at the same time.
-Must be extremely professional, reliable, and punctual, be able to work late as needed.
-Must have an easy communication style and work confidently with design staff and clientele
-Must be exceptionally driven, take critique well, and passionate about achieving excellence in your work
Computer skills required:
-Auto CAD - highly proficient
-Microsoft word, excel, power point, outlook, Adobe Acrobat
-Studio Webware - Training provided if this is new to candidate.
