Local foodies are likely familiar with Foxyco Dallas. Thanks to their custom kitchen equipment and specialty in-house cooking techniques, both food and beverages are unparalleled. Read on to get a taste of what you can expect from an evening at Foxyco Dallas, and to meet the force behind the globally-inspired American concept restaurant that's quickly risen to the top of our favorites list.

Tell us about the history of Foxyco and how the Dallas Design District restaurant came to be.
Foxyco was born from a fun nickname for my wife, MG. Foxy was a playful, in-house nickname that ended up morphing into our second restaurant's name, Foxyco. It was that simple. We wanted to name it close to our hearts that had real meaning to us. We designed the restaurant to reflect the neighborhood that we brought it to. Clean, monochromatic colors and a cheerful, Jackson Pollock-inspired full wall painting.

Since opening, what do you all enjoy most about having a restaurant in the DDD?
We feel that being located in the Design District has brought us closer to many of the local designers and allowed us to be more involved in that culture.

What would you say sets Foxyco apart from other local American concept eateries?
Foxyco is unique because of the equipment and techniques that we use in the kitchen. We built a custom brick hearth that houses an Argentinean style grill, a wood-fired plancha (flat top) and a wood-fired smoker. The wood-burning hearth allows for many different techniques to come to fruition with our culinary program. Although the concept is new American, our food and beverages are globally influenced.

If you had to describe Foxyco’s ambiance in one word, what would it be and why?
Eclectic!

When it comes to menu offerings, both food + cocktails, do you all work in seasonal selections or specials based on current industry trends?
Our menu is a reflection of both seasonal offerings and industry trends. When it comes to food and beverage, we are constantly injecting our personal travel experiences into both of our concepts. Not only ingredients but also techniques. My wife and I rarely take a trip that is not inspired by seeing the most interesting restaurants, cocktail bars, and unique patios. It starts there! We scatter in some art galleries and museums that typically require a lot of steps to counter the caloric intake!

Any current favorite menu items or specialty cocktails you’d recommend?
The Mezcal Negroni is my absolute favorite right now. This cocktail was an inspiration from our most recent trip to Mexico City. Another cocktail favorite would be the TX Smoked Old Fashioned. Can’t go wrong with the Wagyu meatballs, grilled artichokes (pictured below), and the baked feta.

It’s no secret Dallasites love a good happy hour. Tell us about any happy hour specials Foxyco offers.
Our Happy Hour starts early. 4pm – 7pm, Tuesday – Friday. We offer discounted food and beverages. Standouts are the Simon cocktail, named after our little pup, and the tuna tartare on crispy sticky rice.

Complete this sentence: “The Foxyco experience isn’t complete without...."
A smoked old fashioned (pictured below), wagyu meatballs and the grilled artichokes!
