Ask the DDD Tenants: What's Your Favorite Spot in the DDD?

What does it say about a place when the people who work there also love to play there? If you guessed “It must be a pretty great spot to hang out,” you’re right!

We asked the people behind the shops and showrooms at the Dallas Design District about some of their favorite DDD spots to spend time in, and they happily obliged.

Scott + Cooner

In their spare time, the Scott + Cooner team love hanging out at the retro bowling alley Bowlounge.

Jud Taylor says, “This is our favorite spot because it's close by and it's a fun place to hang out with co-workers. They have a great beer selection, their food is good, their ranch is good and the service is always great!"

Edelman Leather

Lucy Thrash from Edelman Leather says of this popular DDD coffee shop: "Ascension has an interesting, urban vibe with really good coffee and food! The patio is appealing after October 1!"

TimberBlindMetroShade

Taking advantage of one of the DDD’s many happy-hour hangouts, Natalie Brauer tells us, “The girls at TimberBlindMetroShade love hitting Wheelhouse for happy hour after work. They have great happy hour deals with an awesome patio to enjoy your drinks and the summer weather.”

Ceylon et Cie

Michelle Nussbaumer says her Ceylon et Cie design team can’t get enough Buda Juice.

"They serve the most healthy and delicious juice. Luckily, it's located right next door to us and we love going there for a quick pick-me-up. My favorite is the Blue Lemonade! I like having a healthy alternative to the burgers, BBQ and tacos in the neighborhood."

POSH Couture Rentals

After an eventful day, the POSH crew heads over to nearby Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar.

"The POSH Team loves Pie Tap!" says Brittany. "No matter what you order there, it's always fresh and full of flavor. We can always count on them to have great service and even better food. It’s a very friendly and fun place to go together as a team.”

TKO Associates

Kris Martin at TKO Associates tells us about one of the many art pieces that can be found in the Dallas Design District: the 20-foot-tall “In Case of Emergency” statue on Hi Line Drive.

“California artist Andrew Myers has created an incredibly interpretive piece of art representing the fragile balance of one’s emotions. The statue depicts a man holding a hammer that can symbolically free the heart and extinguish the fire. Fabulous!”

Aria Stone Gallery

Stephanie from Aria Stone Gallery said of grab & go spot GO GO, “On top of the fact that GO GO used Aria's Calacatta Extra Marble for their bar, our entire staff visits this hip and trendy restaurant almost on the daily for their awesome lattes, top-tier tacos and delicious desserts. GO GO's staff is so fun and friendly, and it is one of our favorite places to enjoy our mid-day breaks!”

Griffin Trading

Stephen Hansrote from Griffin Trading offered up three of his DDD favorites.

About Big Mango Trading Co. he says, “This is such a great place to find amazing and unexpected things for your home and yard. I love the unusual pieces and their scale." To feed the eyes, he likes Craighead Green Gallery. “We have a lot of great galleries in the district, but by far this is the best in my eyes. They always have great art and a great selection of artists.” And to feed the body, Stephen enjoys Rodeo Goat. “I like the casualness of this spot. It always has good food, and I don't need to be dressed up to stop in for a quick bite. The outdoor area is really nice!"
