Join us for Art After Dark at Liliana Bloch Gallery on Thursday, August 13, from 7–9 PM, marking the opening reception of Bogdan Perzyński’s exhibition, 52 42 N 23 52 E.
The evening will include an open bar and summer cocktails by mixologist Anya Schneider.
Created in 2008, 52 42 N 23 52 E is a two-channel interactive video installation that brings moving image into direct relationship with the gallery through color, sound, acoustic sensing, and programming. As viewers enter the space, their presence becomes part of the work, shifting video beyond the screen and into a physical, responsive environment.
The installation developed from Perzyński’s research into the Białowieża Forest, a primeval ecosystem spanning the border of Poland and Belarus, and considers the aesthetic, philosophical, and cultural ways we understand the natural world.
