It’s no secret 2020 has been a tougher year than anyone could have ever predicted. That said, regardless of the rollercoaster ride we’ve all been on, it’s not only important but vital that we recognize and show gratitude for all that we have to be thankful for during these trying times. And, if you ask us, Thanksgiving serves as the perfect reminder that the more we acknowledge everything + everyone we're appreciative of and grateful for, the happier we feel. So, we wanted to take a moment to share specifically what we’re thankful for this year.
Our good health
Seeing as the overwhelming majority of the year has been consumed by a global pandemic, we’d be remiss if we did not first and foremost express thanks for our good health. Being constantly made aware of how many precious lives have been taken and/or affected by COVID-19, we feel beyond blessed to be in good health. And, given the blessing of our good health, we can continue doing what we do best: maintaining a flourishing, vibrant live-work-play community.
Our tenants, old and new
We firmly believe what sets the DDD neighborhood apart from all other local districts and shopping destinations is our tenants, old and new. From the shops and showrooms, to the galleries and restaurants, to the wellness studios and beauty salons, to the breweries and bowling alley, our diverse array of tenants each brings its own unique flair and does its part to make the DDD the versatile destination that it is. And, this year more than ever, we’re tremendously thankful for how tenacious and resilient our tenants have proven to be. When faced with all of the challenges brought forth by COVID-19, all of our tenants stepped up to the plate and adapted their business models to safely and successfully prosper during a global pandemic. So tenants, please know how much we value you, and that we’re endlessly thankful you’re a part of our Dallas Design District family.
This means YOU. Simply put, we wouldn’t be the thriving community we are without the support system that is our DFW community. Regardless of the role you play — whether you’re a designer, a shopper, a foodie, or even if you simply follow along with DDD happenings from afar, we recognize that you all keep our world turning, and we are so incredibly thankful for you. Trust us when we say that our best days together are surely ahead.
Our hope for a bright future
While we have a tremendous amount to be thankful for this year, we also have an enormous amount of excitement for the year to come. In the months ahead in 2021, we look forward to the opportunity to gather together again, to celebrate accomplishments and milestones together again, and to creating and collaborating together again. And while we aren’t sure of exactly what the future holds, we’re confident that together we can collectively take steps to ensure we’re better together than ever before.
We will be the first to admit that in the midst of hard times, it can be difficult to practice gratitude. However, doing your best to remember and recognize what you are grateful for is just one small act that can often have a major impact on your outlook and overall attitude. So, this month we hope that you’ll take some time to think about what you’re thankful for, and most importantly, hope that you’re able to enjoy time spent with those that you’re thankful for. And finally, from our DDD family to yours, we hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving season!
