With a James Martin Furniture vanity in your bathroom, your home will always stand out from the crowd. Unique styles and colors and a fine furniture feel are what you’ll get from this leading manufacturer of bathroom vanity cabinets.
We sat down with the team at James Martin Furniture to ask some questions and learn more about their collections, their clientele and their mission as a company.
Tell us a bit about the background of James Martin Furniture and how the Dallas Design District showroom came to be.
James Martin Furniture is a leading manufacturer of bathroom vanity cabinets. We were recently recognized for being one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine, and our staff has over 100 years of combined furniture experience.
The founders of James Martin set out to build bathroom cabinets using the same uncompromising techniques, standards and quality that can be found in fine furniture. We believe that by incorporating the look of fine furniture, we enable our customers to create an oasis for their clients. Our vanities are functional but unique and make a beautiful statement in any client’s home.
We begin by using North American hardwoods in each of our cabinets and have formed a team of highly trained quality control supervisors that check the work at each stage of production. The end result is a unique product — much like a work of art — that adds to the elegance of any home.
What do you enjoy most about being located in the Design District neighborhood?
Being in the Design District has enabled us to immerse ourselves in the design industry. It has put us directly in the place that we need to be to see and be seen by the right niche of the design, kitchen and bath, and builder industries. We have enjoyed getting to know our neighbors, and we feel that the Design District is where we belong.
If someone has yet to visit the showroom, what can they expect when they walk in?
We have been located in the heart of the Dallas Design District since 2014. Customers who walk into our showroom are greeted with a warm welcoming smile. We have over 10,000 square feet of the largest selection of bathroom vanities in the DFW area.
Our showroom features five large rooms with over 300 vanities of multiple styles — from traditional to transitional to modern and contemporary — in over 30 different finishes. We carry several options for interchangeable sink/tops as well, in marble, granite, quartz and solid surface. Our warehouse in Garland contains 40,000 square feet of pallet space with our local inventory to keep availability and quick delivery at a high level.
Is the James Martin showroom open to the public, or is it trade-only? How would you describe the feel and style of the James Martin Furniture showroom?
We utilize our showroom mainly to showcase our many vanity and top options to the design trade and home builder industries. But you may be lucky enough to find one-of-kind vanities or tops we made for special projects but which were never placed into production. As we do not normally sell to the public, we will periodically have floor sample sales for limited, discontinued and clearance items.
Our showroom style is laid-back and fun — not your typical design showroom. We like to think of our showroom as a workshop where we evaluate new cabinet designs and stone top colors. As we introduce new items, we find it necessary to retire older designs, colors and sizes of vanities and mirrors.
What would you say sets James Martin’s style and approach apart from that of other local furniture showrooms?
We believe that our variety of bathroom vanities and interchangeable marble, granite and solid-surface top options is what sets us apart from other bathroom showrooms.
We offer over 300 different vanity cabinets and over 2000 combinations to ensure your bathroom is as unique as your imagination. We focus on only bathroom vanities, so our furniture style and quality is unbeatable.
Are there any current pieces or collections that you’re particularly fond of?
Our most popular collections continue to be the Brittany, the Brookfield and the Bristol. We also have several fashionable wall-mounted or “floating” vanities that have been in demand in recent years.
Hits for 2017 included some of our signature pieces, such as the Columbia/Mercer Island and the Oasis. We introduced the Bel Air and Beverly series as a throwback to the golden era of Hollywood glamour, with stainless steel and chrome finishes and a lacquer mirror to polish off the collection.
Any upcoming pieces, collections or trends we can look forward to seeing in this new year?
For 2018, we have added to our highly successful ADA-compliant (wheelchair accessible) vanity collections such as the Castilian, the Brookfield and the Brittany. We are also excited to announce our brand-new 2018 collections: the De Soto, the Palisade, the Brisbane, the Canberra, the Cairns and the Wellington.
We are also introducing several new frequently requested features, such as built-in electrical components and USB outlets. 2018 additions also include bamboo and faux shargreen drawer organizers, modular vanities with a makeup counter option, removable panels and much more.
