Discover Your Design District

Home for the Holidays in the DDD

It’s that time again — the holidays are here! (Wasn’t it "that time" just yesterday?) The kids will be home, family will be visiting and workloads at the office will have (hopefully) slowed down. What to do with all that spare time?

Well, if we may humbly make a suggestion... why not go to the Dallas Design District? We've got more than enough to keep everyone busy and entertained through the holidays until it’s time to go back to the everyday grind.

Shopping

Of course, the DDD has plenty of places to go if you’re looking to update your home’s decor. But did you know we also offer a lot of other fun retail shops to explore (and cross a few names off your gift list, while you're at it)?

For men, get all you need to take care of face, beard, body and hair at award-winning Billy Jealousy. And the ladies can pop over to Buddy Love to check out their collection of laid-back and fashionable dresses and rompers. Make sure you send your family back to their non-Texas homes with a pair of Lucchese cowboy boots and a Texas home ornament from f. Is for frank.

Fun

'Tis the season for festive fun! Luckily, the DDD is chock full of fun places to go. Take in the Continental Bridge and explore the nearby Trinity River. Stop by the Photos Do Not Bend (PDNB) gallery for photo-based art exhibits, and then pop across the street to Dallas Contemporary to take in some amazing contemporary art. Finally, get your body ready for all the holiday feasting with a yoga class at Balancing Energy Health & Yoga Center and a Pilates class at Pilates in Mind.

Eats

Save yourself some time in the kitchen this holiday season by taking the family out to any one of the excellent restaurants that call the DDD home. Try Wheelhouse’s modern gastropub fare. Of course, you can never go wrong with a beer and a pizza from Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar. And make sure you take any out-of-town visitors to get some good 'ole Texas BBQ at The Slow Bone.

Cheers

Who doesn’t need a night away for some grownup fun? With a full bar, 40 beers on draft and more than 85 by the bottle, there's something for everyone at The Meddlesome Moth. For some trivial fun, stop by the weekly trivia night put on by Community Beer Co. and Geeks Who Drink. But if wine is more your thing, you’re in luck. Simply drop into Inwood Estates Winery, voted one of the best wineries in America.

Make this a holiday season to remember for you and everyone you know by spending it at the Dallas Design District. The holidays only come around once a year — why not live it up?
