Dallas Design District Interview Spotlight: The Hall on Dragon

Welcome to the Dallas Design District’s newest event venue, The Hall on Dragon! Fresh off its October 2017 renovation, The Hall on Dragon is ready to host weddings, parties and corporate events of up to 700 people.

We asked the team at The Hall on Dragon a few questions to learn a little more about the newest space from Lance Hudes.

Give us some background about The Hall on Dragon and how it came to be.

This is the fourth event venue opened in the Dallas Metroplex by owner Lance Hudes, who's also opened some of Dallas' most sought-after venues like The Room on Main, The Windsor at Hebron Park and Howell and Dragon. This is the culmination of 15 years of operating event venues and a catering company, CN Catering, in Dallas.

All of the other venues max out at 350 guests or less. When the opportunity presented itself to create a venue that could hold 700, it could not be ignored!

Being relatively new to the Design District, what most excites you about opening an event space in the DDD?

The Dallas Design District is the hottest commercial district in Dallas. We are super-excited to have the two newest, nicest venues in the Design District (Howell and Dragon and The Hall on Dragon).

We can accommodate smaller events at Howell and Dragon (capacity 300) and larger events at The Hall on Dragon (capacity 700), and therefore accommodate every type of event.

What types of events do you foresee being held at The Hall on Dragon?

The Hall on Dragon has two separate rooms that can be used as a pre-function or wedding ceremony space and a separate ballroom. The ballroom can further be broken into two separate areas with the use of a permanently installed drape system, which allows for even more flexibility.

Due to the size and flexibility of the space, it is currently booked for elegant weddings (both ceremony and reception), luxurious galas and classic corporate events.

Other than being an event space, are there other offerings or accommodations that The Hall on Dragon will be able to provide?

In addition to weddings, galas and corporate events, the space can be used for fashion shows, luncheons, corporate training, seminars, formals, mitzvahs and quineañeras.

Tell us something about The Hall on Dragon that sets it apart from other local event venues and spaces.

There is no other venue in the Design District that can accommodate 700 people for an elegant event. In addition to the elegant space, the onsite parking is another huge advantage that others do not have in this area.

What is one word you would use to describe The Hall on Dragon and why?

Elegant. Between the beautiful brass bar with quartzite top, the gorgeous chandeliers and sconces, it speaks for itself.

Are there any upcoming happenings or events planned at The Hall on Dragon that you are particularly looking forward to?

We had an amazing first event the first week of October for a top Dallas law firm for 350 people — a great way to start off! We also recently had our Grand Opening on October 18th with over 500 guests!
