Just in time for Valentine’s Day: Piazza Valentina

Heads up Design Districters, we’re two and a half weeks away from everyone’s favorite Hallmark-holiday and I hope you’re ready because Valentine’s Day hits us February 14th. Fortunately for those who want to celebrate a little early, or at least for those in need of a few sentimental gifts, the Design District Market is coming to the neighborhood a few days early.

Last fall Brandon Castillo, mastermind behind the successful Deep Ellum Outdoor Market and Monica Diodati of Jim Lake Companies, launched the inaugural Design District Market. Thanks to the popularity and success of last year’s event, they’re bringing it back for round two and this time the market takes place Saturday, February 9.

“Piazza Valentina” will bring a taste of Europe to the neighborhood with roaming musicians, puppeteers plus everything we experienced and loved about Design District Market number one.

Local artisans, foodies and clothiers will all be on hand to help you find the perfect gift for that special someone, or if you’re so inclined, yourself. Vendors will be from throughout the city not just the neighborhood, providing a great opportunity for artists and artisans to mix and mingle alongside attendees themselves.

Food trucks, beer and wine will be on the scene as well as live music to provide a festival-like atmosphere to the market.

All of the action takes place at 960 Dragon Street and will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more details or to see pictures from the last Design District Market, check out the official website here.
