Thai food is on its way to the Design District

It’s official. Local food bloggers broke the news this morning that the Design District will add another new restaurant to its list this summer.

Richard and Tiffanee Ellman are no strangers to doing business in the neighborhood. The husband-wife duo also own the award-winning Oak, and just recently opened a new spot in Uptown. This time, however, they’re planning something a little different.

The Ellman’s are slated to open Pak Pao Thai in mid-May bringing some, in my opinion, much-needed ethnic cuisine to the neighborhood.

I don’t have many details at this time but will keep everyone posted as more information about the concept, location and timing surface. For now you can rest assured the restaurant will at least be beautiful. The Ellmans will be working with powerhouse design firms Plan B and the Design District’s own Coeval Studio.
