The Design District has apartments galore, fabric and furniture for miles and a growing number of restaurants and eateries, but when it comes to groceries, beer or other convenience items, residents still have to make the trek under I-35. Creative Culinary Concepts, a local group of entrepreneurs, is about to change that, bringing their Food Boutique concept to the neighborhood.
Cory Schell, owner of Creative Culinary Concepts, along with partners Adam Alfia, Brian Payson and Alex Waldvogel have selected their second Dallas location to be on the ground floor of the new, luxury 1400 Hi Line apartment tower, where Alex is also a resident. (The first is located at Gables Villa Rosa on Cedar Springs.)
“There is so much growth in the Design District and 1400 Hi Line is a great fit for for the concept,” Alex says.
“We’re very excited to serve 1400 residents as well as nearby showrooms and offices. With all the apartments and restaurants that have opened in the past few years, the Design District is a prime location for The Food Boutique,” says Cory.
The Food Boutique will provide grocery delivery as well as maintain a retail space, featuring a coffee bar, deli and beer and wine bar. It will also sell fresh, pre-packaged foods and small convenience items. ”When you live in cool a place like 1400, sometimes it’s nicer to stay in instead of going out,” says Alex. The Food Boutique will deliver to Design District residents and neighborhood offices. “We want it to be room service style.”
The Food Boutique is expected to open in the spring of 2013 and, I’m sure, will be a much welcomed addition to the area!
