
Tonight is a big night in the Big DDD! Three awesome events will make the neighborhood a prime destination for lovers of art, design, handmade items and more! Here’s the quick skinny on where you should be this evening.
Start off at the Design District Market, a new event from the creator of Deep Ellum Outdoor Market. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. and food trucks and beer will be plentiful, so be sure to fill your belly so you’ll have the energy to hit the rest of the Design District’s hot happenings.
Insiders tip: Be on the look out for Dowdy Studio Wagon. It’s pretty much a mobile etsy shop! You’ll go gaga over their handmade items, like silk-screned tees, pillows, clocks, jewelry, home accessories and more!
Furnish-A-Wish: BoConcept’s 60th Anniversary Celebration
Up next, help BoConcept celebrate sixty by giving back! Furnish-A-Wish, as they’re calling it, will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Throughout the night (and all day today), BoConcept Dallas will donate 5% of sales to Make-A-Wish North Texas. In addition, anyone who donates $25 or more to Make-A-Wish directly will receive a gift bag including special promotions from area retailers that want to “thank you” for your support. Insiders tip: They will also will hold a raffle for special sponsor-supplied gifts. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 and will enter you into the drawings for prizes valued at over $1,000.
LEGENDARY 2012 at Dallas Contemporary
Your last stop for the evening promises to be LEGEND wait for it… DARY! This year’s annual event will feature artist K8 Hardy’s site-specific anti-fashion, fashion show. According to PinkMemo, “the eccentric runway show will feature overstated clothing, make-up and hair styling, with vintage-inspired clothes and novel music.” Tickets are still available.
