A Walk to Remember: Stroll Slocum Street this Thursday

Once a year, the stylish showrooms of Slocum Street throw open their doors and introduce Dallasites to their extraordinary offerings. Slocum Street Style is a Design District tradition and it’s right around the corner!

The Design District is home to the nation’s fourth largest concentrated campus of luxury furnishing showrooms, art and antique gallerie. Slocum Street is the epicenter of the antique scene and is a major reason that the Design District the go-to destination for interior designers from around the country.

The street is internationally known for its collection of high-end antique showrooms and, on Thursday, October 18, they will all be open to the public to browse, shop and enjoy food and drinks. Think the Dallas Art Dealer’s Association’s bi-annual gallery walks, except for instead of just art, you’ll be able to browse furnishings, art, accessories, antiques and more.

Slocum Street will be closed to traffic on Thursday night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Trolleys will be on hand to transport guests who either can’t stroll or would rather ride between showrooms.

Check out the Design Guide website for a full list of participating showrooms, which feature a wide variety of offerings including European antiques, oriental rugs, custom furniture, stone furnishings, floral design and accessories.
